“Someone’s Knocking at the Door ” director Chad Ferrin’s upcoming “Dances With Werewolves”

Chad Ferrin, the rapidly-rising horror director of soon-to-be classics Easter Bunny, Kill! Kill! And Someone’s Knocking at the Door has made a swift & strategic break into the independent film industry. Someone’s Knocking at the Door, his latest film, was long overdue after nearly a decade of excruciating sacrifices and the searing pain that inevitably comes with being a struggling artist. Bold-faced and ready to fuck shit up, Chad has recently secured the director’s seat for David Chirchirillo’s screenplay Dances with Werewolves. Hannover House will be partnering up with R. Ghodsi’s Illusion Film Studios to produce the film. Nicole Reid and Niklas Larson will be sharing production duties with Ghodsi while Fred Shefte and Eric Parkinson will oversee the project as executive producers.

The film takes place in the 1800s following a group of war prisoners as they escape from a Union prison camp. Tired and fatigued, they board a train later waking to the heinous scene of brutally butchered passengers, the savagery apparently inflicted upon the victims by some sort of wild animal, which they later learn to be a blood thirsty pack of Native Americans that possess the ability to morph into werewolves. Chad shared with me his intent to create a very visceral viewing experience, free from the wretched reigns of CGI. He also mentioned a ‘birth-like’ transformation of the creatures and I knew die-hard genre fans would be in for a real treat. Ferrin and the crew behind Dances will begin shooting on the October 24 in Michigan, with an anticipated theatrical (3D!) release date of February 2012.
