Glickenhaus’ “The Exterminator” is torching its way to blu-ray

One of the most violent and scummy exploitation movies to ever hit the big screen is coming to high definition blu-ray September 13, 2011 courtesy of the boys and girls over at Synapse Films. Roget Ebert gave it a glowing review in my opinion when he said “a sick example of the almost unbelievable descent into gruesome savagery in American movies.” That is the quickest way to sell me on a movie, Mr. Ebert. The remastered transfer (1.78:1 widescreen) is coming straight from the original vault materials and is going to be the gorier and more violent Director’s Cut! That’s 104 minutes of pure, unadulterated fun my friends!

SYNOPSIS (from press release)
Christopher George, Robert Ginty, and Samantha Eggar star in The Exterminator, James Glickenhaus’ explosive story of Vietnam vet John Eastland (Ginty), a man who launches a bloody vendetta against the New York underworld when his best friend is brutally beaten by a vicious street gang. Eastland becomes a vigilante hero to the public, but to police The Exterminator is a psychopath capable of dangerously undermining an entire government administration.

The DVD/Blu-ray combo pack will be region free and feature audio commentary by director James Glickenhaus and the theatrical trailer and television spots.
