Horror icon Ingrid Pitt dies at age 73
Hammer horror starlet and one of the sexiest women ever to grace film has died after collapsing last week. “It was heart trouble. She had a couple of bad years, health-wise, but she had fought through. Anyone who knew my mother would say she was incredibly feisty and determined to make a good fist of everything she wanted to do.” says daughter Stephanie. Though she may be best known as the steamy Carmilla in The Vampire Lovers she was also in Robin Hardy’s The Wicker Man who had this to say, “She was a very attractive person in every sense. She was a perfectly good actress but a very decent person as well.”
