Michelle Rodriguez in exploitation action flick “Citizen Jane”?
No, I’m not talking about the 2009 Ally Sheedy made-for-TV movie. I’m talking about a kick-ass Michelle Rodriguez action movie spoof of the film often referred to as the “best movie ever”, Citizen Kane. A very short teaser trailer was played at the Austin Fantastic Fest but later was revealed to be a promo gag for filmmaker Aaron Burns’ flick Blacktino that stars Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey, who along with Rodriguez starred in this summer’s Machete. Burns told Entertainment Weekly, “In Blacktino, the main character watches a trailer for a film called Citizen Jane, which features Michelle doing even more ridiculously awesome things… Michelle came down for the last day of production and gave me almost enough badass footage to make a full movie.”
But much like the fake Grindhouse trailers that spawned Machete, the filmmaker is thinking about actually going through with the production, “You know it’s funny because this Citizen Jane idea came out of my head as a joke from day one. Now, I’m actually getting offers from people who want to make it, and emails from others who want to see me dead for spitting on Orson Welles’ grave.” Let’s hope that this comes to fruition because we canNOT have enough of the super sexy badass Michelle Rodriguez shooting giant machine guns while dressed in sexy outfits.
