“Horror Porn”… the term is pretty redundant. It’s almost as if Merriam and Webster were watching Friday the 13th in their pajamas, with all of the lights off when they thought of the third definition of “pornography”. The two genres are brothers in offense and have been thrown together by the Christian Right and others as contributing to the downfall of civilization (and panties). They claim what violence and sex in cinema warp the minds of our young and lead them down a path of fucking and killing. I disagree, it’s pussy that leads one down a path of fucking and killing (Don’t give me that look. It’s a joke, dammit).
But I digress… so what do artists do when the masses think something is offensive? They call it art! The Europeans did it in the 70′s and 80′s with the likes of the proficiently pornographic Joe D’Amato (Porno Holocaust, The Erotic Nights of the Living Dead). The Americans, not to be outdone, did it with grindhouse favorites like Shaun Costello (Forced Entry, Water Power) and Zebedy Colt (The Devil Inside Her, Sex Wish). Presently we have XXX sickos like Rob Rotten (Porn of the Dead) to repulse and titillate us with his own brand of horror porn; the classic horror movie porn spoof.
Five young people on a trip take a wrong turn and end up running out of gas. While the couple in front argue about who knows where they are and the single chick hops out to take a tinkle, the couple in the back get right to the banging. Then a stranger walks up to the van claiming that he knows where they are and can help them. But it seems that all he knows is how to slice up some bitches! Three of them escape to a nearby house only to be sexed, sliced and fucked up by the weirdo clan that lives there. Woman-child, tattooed dude, crazy-haired alternative girl and “Leatherface” lumbering mute guy all take their turn “gettin’em some” until one of the visitors get away… or does she?
Mr. Rotten is a sick fucker with an eye for horror and porn. He could easily slide into one genre or the other and do well at it. I dare say that if he wanted to go “mainstream” and do some straight horror, he could and be successful. Don’t get me wrong, this is still porn and porn by nature is horribly written and plays to the sex on screen first and foremost. But incorporating horror elements, especially those of such a great classic (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre of course) is new and exciting (literally). I’m no XXX connoisseur but I dare say that not many people are doing this and if they are, it’s not this well made. The strange characters, great direction (even the sex scenes themselves), and death-by-gas powered-vibrator all make this bloody production a curiosity that all of the pervs in the crowd should check out.
