Yutaka “Mr. Pink” Ikejima got his nickname for being one of the most prolific pink eiga filmmakers ever. With over 100 films under his directorial belt, he is also considered one of the best. He is no stranger to being in front of the camera either, he has appeared in over 500 movies as an actor. His directorial career began in 1988 with a “pinku” called The Masturbating Lesbian (1991). He has been honored at the Pink Grand Prix (aka Academy Awards of the Pink Film) and won a couple of Pinky Ribbon awards. In 2004 he directed The Japanese Wife Next Door which was picked this year as an Official Selection of the 2009 New York Asian Film Festival. This was the first year that pink film has been shown in the festival. Now Pink Eiga has delivered us the goods on NTSC Region 0 DVD.
Takashi is a businessman who meets two women in a restaurant bar and must choose which to go home with. He chooses Sakura after she feigns sickness to take his attention from the other woman. After an incredible night of Earth shaking boffing, he marries her and they move in with his family; grandfather, dad and sister. A few weeks pass and Takashi becomes impotent after Sakara’s voracious sexual appetite literally fucks the sex out of him. While he is away from home for work, she turns to seducing the family to quell her hunger. First banging Grandfather back to health and happiness, then turning the uptight sister into a reluctant lesbo and finally allowing dear ol’ Dad to take up the slack for his ailing son. After everyone – except Takashi – finds out about each others indiscretions, they become a closer family in more ways than one. But what will happen when the husband comes home to find just how close they are?
Director Yutaka Ikejima and writer Kyoko Godai have created a hilarious and graphic sex comedy in Japanese Wife. It is by far the most explicit film Pink Eiga has put out so far. I dare say that 75% of the movie is nudity or fucking or both. Not only that, but some of the oral sex is real according to Ikejima (in the interview with him in the DVD extras) and some of it is shot with a stunt penis. The scenes of (stunt) dick sucking are blurred – as is the case with any Japanese movie showing genitalia, real or not – but you can clearly see the shlong going in the mouth. As the family begins to find out that the others are all fucking Sakara, we even get incestuous threesomes, foursomes and all-out orgies. Although, now that I think about it, is it incestuous if you aren’t actually having sex with one another but making the same girl “air tight” as they say? [Who says that? - Proofreader]
The grandfather is the funniest part of the movie as he has a relationship with the camera and talks directly to it, often making faces in it as he’s humping his hot granddaughter-in-law. In the last and one of the grossest scenes, he also cums in Sakara’s mouth while she is riding Takashi and instead of swallowing, she moans (while also taking it in the ass from Dad) and the spooge goes all over her husbands face and mouth. AAAAAAAHHHHH, OLD MAN SEED!! I was completely shocked, horrified and I could not stop laughing. He also has the best lines; “They’re HUGE, just like balloons!”, talking about Sakara’s tits. Speaking of which… holy moly, Reiko Yamaguchi, who plays the titular (pun totally intended!) character is my new favorite pink film girl. Her body is ridiculous and her boobs are big, natural and squishy – which is a good thing… very good.
The extras on the disk, which usually aren’t a big draw for me, were really good. I’m speaking in particular about the interviews with “Mr. Pink” and the amazing Miss Yamaguchi. She is a former Japanese “Adult Video” star who is now a pink eiga sex-bomb. She is interviewed by Ikejima himself while she sits in front of, what looks like, a very interesting video and DVD collection and they banter about her career and the making of Japanese Wife. They are both very interesting which makes these two approximately 13 minute interviews well worth watching. And after watching the movie and her interview, I now have to find some of her other films. The other extras are pretty standard (trailers, bios, etc.) and the video and audio are also on par with Pink Eiga’s other releases; very good.
Interestingly, this is one of two movies that Ikejima shot at the same time; parts 1 and 2 of the same movie. This is part one and the second part takes place in an “alternate reality” where Takashi picks the other girl in the bar instead of Sakara. I really hope that Pink Eiga gets the chance to put this out. I am very interested in seeing what he does with this one and if it stacks up with part one.
